The Postgraduate School of Universitas Brawijaya (SPUB), held the International Interdisciplinary Studies Seminar (IISS).

(Thursday, 26/10/2023) Brawijaya University Graduate School (SPUB) held the 16th International Interdisciplinary Studies Seminar (IISS) at the Grand Mercure Hotel Malang with the theme “A Multidisciplinary Approach to Environmental and Social Science Studies for Sustainability Awareness”. The event began with a speech by Dr. Nurul Badriyah, S.E., M.E., as Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, as well as opening a seminar. This seminar was held in a hybrid setting and attended by about 114 participants, consisting of speakers and participants.

 

The International Interdisciplinary Studies Seminar begins with Plenary Session I with speakers from various universities, namely Dr. Syed Sharizman from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia; Prof. Takahiro Osawa from Yamaguchi University, Japan; and Prof. Dr. Rachmad Safa’at, S.H., M.Si., from SPUB, with moderator Maharani Pertiwi K., S.Si., M.Biotech., Ph.D. from SPUB. The plenary session went well. The seminar participants were very eager to ask questions and discuss them with the speakers. The next event is Plenary Session II with Speaker Prof. John Lynham from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, Hawaii; Prof. Dr. Ir. Gattuso, DESS., P., ASEAN Eng. from SPUB; and moderator Wresti Listu Anggayasti, Ph.D. from SPUB. Plenary Session II also went well. The seminar participants were very enthusiastic about asking questions of the speakers.

 

Then the event continued with a parallel session. There are four parallel sessions. Parallel Session 1 is an offline class, while Parallel Session 2-4 is an online class. The seminar ended with the award of Best Paper, Best Presenter, and Best Pasticipant by the chairman, Prof. Setyo Tri Wahyudi, S.E., M.Ec., Ph.D., at the same time as closing the 16th International Interdisciplinary Studies Seminar (IISS) 2023.
